Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • I attended high school with Hilary and, in 2007, helped her to plan our 25th annual reunion. I am very sorry to hear of her passing and did not know about it until now (February 23, 2016). My condolences to her family. - Posted by: Philippe Kwon (High school classmate; St. John's-Ravenscourt Class of 1982) on: Feb 23, 2016

  • I first time I met Hilary was at a play group which Rebecca and my son Manny both attended. Brian would drop off Hilary in her wheelchair and their daughter for this brief weekly gathering. It became quickly apparent to all in attendance how deeply loving a mother Hilary was and that nothing would serve as an obstacle for her nor her angelic husband to give their daughter a normal upbringing. Hilary glowed watching Rebecca play with my son and others and you could just see the nachos she derived from being there and observing this interaction. My deepest condolences to the family for their loss. Hilary with her illness proved that nothing was impossible. She had children and served as a wonderful role model for them, displaying her determination everyday to live. It is a tremendous loss that she passed away so young. But her kids should know that she fought the fight everyday to be with them and with Brian and what more can one do than that? As for her husband- Brian showed the deepest kind of love caring for Hilary and his family. you have been blessed to have loved each other and had many years filled with wonderful memories of her that will last a lifetime. They are never gone. It was an honour to know her and see that special smile. Her illness did not define her that's for sure. What a fighter!! - Posted by: Harriet Berkal (friend ) on: Jan 31, 2016

  • Sincere condolences to you all on the loss of Hilary. Hilary was quintessentially a good and brave person. I well remember her diagnosis at such a young age; yet her attitude to life with her sense of humour gave her the fortitude to love her family, and be loved by them in return. I know how much you will all miss her. With affection, Mary Morican - Posted by: Mary Morican (Former Teacher) on: Jan 21, 2016
